A Brief History

Dr. F. Edward Yazbak opened the first Pediatric practice in Cumberland, RI, on January 3rd, 1964. The practice thrived because of his thoroughness, hard work, and caring demeanor. Dr. Yazbak quickly earned a reputation within the community as an excellent physician and often would serve families for as long as three generations. Dr. Peter Yasigian joined him in July, 1985, and the practice continued to grow as Y & Y Pediatrics. Dr. Robert Couch joined the group in 1992 and stayed until 2002, when he moved back to Texas with his family.

Y & Y Pediatrics evolved into Blackstone Valley Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine in 1998 when Dr. Stephanie Peduto moved to Rhode Island after completing her residency and two years of private practice in New York. Dr. Maureen Crotty moved from Boston to join Blackstone Valley Pediatric in 2002 and Dr. Robert Andler joined the practice after completing his residency at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence, RI.

Dr. Yazbak retired from active practice in 1998, but continues to work hard on vaccine research along with issues of Autism etiology and treatment. If you have any questions about his research, feel free to contact him.

Blackstone Valley Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine continues to grow, with locations in both Cumberland, RI, and North Smithfield, RI. We are always accepting new patients and would be delighted to have you as an addition to our practice. Call for a personal interview with one of our physicians.
